REBOOT YOUR BODY & MIND – NOW IS THE TIME
The meaning of reboot is to shut down in order to restart and in the process the issues at hand will be sorted….now that is easier said than done in the human body as it is in the computer world where we are familiar with the term.
We all started the New year with good intentions of healthier lifestyles and that can mean different things to each individual, be it fitness, eating or just living a calmer life but in actual fact involves all three categories.
Then the Covid 19 pandemic happened and most good intentions either fell by the way side or some were reinvented and the lockdown was a blessing in disguise.
I personally prefer to start with a detoxification as for me it is the first step to be taken to clear out the toxins that causes our illness and just a “not well”feeling. That could mean a juice cleansing fast for a few days or for the brave only water with slices of lemon, mint and ginger drank throughout the day. The duration depends on each person as with health its not a one size fits all. We are all uniquely made and should treat our bodies in the same manner.
Detoxification is an ancient way of cleansing the body and can be found in many cultures for centuries. Before you start on the detox- at least a week prior- cut out your addictions be it caffeine (that’s me) alcohol, sugar and processed foods. This will make it less challenging than going cold turkey.
Choose your time line, it takes 7 days to break a habit , 21 days to form it and a further 42 days to implement it a total of 70 days to start a brand new lifestyle. Set goals, there is nothing wrong with that, and write it down it makes one more accountable. Start a chart like page or a reboot diary with 70 spaces and mark off each one as the day progress or note exactly what you had done…which and whatever you prefer.
With Spring having arrived along with pollen all over and affecting us with teary eyes, runny nose and tightness of chest, and it has affected me as well and general rundown feeling just makes you feel out of sorts day or night. I try my best not to go outside early in the morning or at dusk but I still seem to have it 24 hours of the day. Now is the time to build up our immune system because we are so aware of the symptoms of Covid-19 you first check that before anything else and become paranoid in the process.
Most of all find your balance – rather than spend your entire life in a process of detox, do periods of cleaning out and find good balance by eating the healthier options so instead of saying I am not eating that because its not good for me choose something healthier in its place and enjoy the option, it takes time, it took time to get where you are right now so don’t beat yourself up about it just be gentle and love your body inside and out and don’t follow just lead yourself to happiness and a healthier lifestyle.

Health is the absence of dis-ease and that is what we should be striving for.
